About Rayman Legends

Rayman Legends is a platform video game developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and published by Ubisoft. The game carries on the style of gameplay from Rayman Origins in which up to four players (depending on the format) simultaneously make their way through various levels. Lums can be collected by touching them, defeating enemies, or freeing captured Teensies. Collecting Teensies unlocks new worlds, which can be played in any order once they are available. Along with Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies returning as playable characters, players can now control new female character Barbara and her sisters, once they are rescued from certain stages.

Rayman M is better described by what it’s not than what it is. It’s not a karting game based on the characters from a cute platform/adventure game, with a standard track-unlocking structure and a selection of throwaway battle modes, hidden characters and assorted bonus games. However, insert running/climbing/swinging/ sliding in place of karting and you’re pretty much there.

Dash over turbo pads, scale walls, swing across gaps with a grappling device and otherwise slide and clamber your way through 12 obstacle courses of steadily increasing complexity. Along with straightforward racing there are two collect-’em-up variations, as well as some token battle arena modes that largely fail to amuse.While the game is not without a degree of charm, there’s no escaping the fact that climbing, swinging and sliding around a level (and frequently falling off things in the process) is simply not as much fun as racing around a track firing banana skins or guided missiles at each other. The competition is not as direct nor as cutthroat, and the pleasure of frustrating your mates is almost entirely absent. To top it off, the multiplayer bizarrely manages only up to two-player split-screen.
