Upgrade a Software Image with ASDM 6.x Note: ASDM 6.x is supported only on ASA software image 8.x and later. Complete these steps to upgrade a software image on the ASA 5500 with ASDM: 1. Choose Tools Upgrade Software from Local computer. From the Home window of the ASDM. Current ASA/ASDM level is 8.3.1/6.3.1. Upgrade doc shows max level of 9.2.4/7.4.3+. I'm planning on using the ASDM upgrade wizard. I've gathered I should upgrade the ASDM first. Upgrade doc lists 7.4.3+, so I'm planning on upgrading straight to 7.6.1. ASA upgrade path is 8.3.x 8.4.5 9.2.1+, so I'm planning to follow that. ASA Security Device Manager (ASDM) is a configuration tool included with the ASA. It has an easy-to-use Web-based management interface and enables network administrators to quickly configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco firewall appliances. Before enabling ASDM on your ASA device, you need to obtain the ASDM image. I have updated the ios & asdm version of ASA 5505 to ios Version 9 & ASDM Version 7. I used TFTP server on widows 7 pc.
